Toonboom and TV Paint

These past few weeks have been crazy! Wednesday of week 6 and Thursday of week 7 was Animatic Night, where upperclassmen showed their animatics for feedback. Some of our eboard members presented their animatics, and got some pretty good feedback. Yesterday was a Toonboom and TV Paint demonstration provided by some of the faculty. It was a pretty good informational session, and I recorded it, so the video links to those should be up soon.

Drink 'n Draw and Bill Plymton!

Tonight is Drink n' Draw at the Ritz! Come and make an animated film with us at 8PM! Hang out, eat some pizza, have a drink (if you choose to), and socialize! It's a great opportunity to meet new people, and by the end of the night we should have some pretty cool animations going ; )


Also, today Animator Bill Plymton visited RIT. You can check out some of his work on http://www.plymptoons.com. He was overall a pretty cool guy! We got to see some of his films, talk about animation, and got some great tips about making a living as an independent animator.

I even got his autograph!!

Animation Club Second Meeting

Today was the 2nd Meeting of animation club. We took a tour of the undergrad labs that are available to SOFA students and friends of SOFA students. Next week will be an all Stop Motion day, so it should be pretty cool! Joe (the treasure) and Matt are going to be talking about Stop Motion, and we're going to have a project for everyone to do. So if you like working with your hands, you're in luck for next week!

Drink 'n Draw

This quarter, we are hosting our first ever RIT Animation Club Drink 'n Draw! The idea behind it is that lots of people come together, and each draw a few frames of a short film, and then when they finish, they leave the last frame for the next person to continue on to. It's a lot of fun, and it doesn't require any drawing or animation skills! It's week 4, September 30th, at the Ritz. More information will be given as the date grows closer.

Website Update

Hey, did you see our new web design?? It's so awesome! This design was the work of Brett Wilson, recent graduate from RIT. You should check out his blog when you get the chance; he has some really awesome stuff, especially if you're interested in 2D Animation and Design. Thanks a lot Brett! You're the man!
